Dynamic Functional Imaging

The DOBI Medical ComfortScan® system is based upon a platform technology called Dynamic Functional Imaging. The ComfortScan system is sensitive to dynamic volumetric differences in blood and differences in deoxyhemoglobin.  The system is able to measure these differences by applying a uniform pressure to the breast. The change in pressure is believed to trap blood in the tortuous angiogenic structures that form around the tumor. The system displays the effects of the changes in volume and/or changes in deoxyhemoglobin over time.  Normal tissue, which has normal vascular structures, does not absorb light the same way that tissue with vascular abnormalities does.
